Writing guidelines
While your marketing should look and sound like it’s coming from you, there are specific copy requirements to follow when creating messaging about Buy with Prime.
DO
- Always write “Buy with Prime,” “Amazon Prime,” and “Amazon Prime members” in full.
- State clearly that the Buy with Prime benefits of fast, free delivery and easy returns on eligible orders are available for Prime members only when they check out using Buy with Prime.
- When writing about Buy with Prime benefits, only use the preapproved copy in the "Ready-to-use lines" section of this guide.
- Change calls to action or other parts of the copy that are not related to the Buy with Prime benefits.
- Follow the Amazon Trademark Usage Guidelines.
DON'T
- Don't use the terms “membership,” “subscription,” or “customers.” “Amazon Prime members” is the correct way to refer to Amazon Prime memberships, but remember to always keep “members” lowercase and do not call them “Amazon Prime customers.”
- Don't use “Prime” on its own when referring to Buy with Prime, Amazon Prime and Amazon Prime members.
- Don't use “Buy with Prime” as a verb.
- Don't use the Buy with Prime badge in copy.
- Don't use the abbreviation BwP; always spell out Buy with Prime in full.
- Don't imply Same-Day Delivery is available or reference any specific delivery speed (e.g., 1-day or 2-day).
- Don't be suggestive of additional discounts, deals, or savings.
- Don't refer to any other Prime benefit beyond delivery and returns.
- Don't attempt to induce non-Prime members to sign up in your marketing materials.
- Don't imply a higher standard of product quality guaranteed by Prime.
- Don't imply partnership, sponsorship, or association with Amazon.
- Don't address Prime members directly in an email heading, greeting, or subject (for example: Dear Prime members).
- Don't refer to Buy with Prime as “Amazon’s Buy with Prime.”
- The Buy with Prime badge or other references to Buy with Prime must not be displayed in connection with products that violate the Buy with Prime Product Policies or the Buy with Prime Acceptable Use Policy. For example, the Buy with Prime badge must not be displayed on the same page as products that violate these policies.
