Foundational first steps

1. Select the right products for your Buy with Prime catalog

Add products to your catalog so shoppers can start checking out with Buy with Prime on your site. Use these suggestions to get started:

  • Send products to Amazon fulfillment centers. If your products aren’t in Amazon fulfillment centers yet, you’ll need to send in products before you can turn on Buy with Prime for those items. If you’re already using Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA), you’ll need to authorize Amazon to use your inventory stored in Amazon fulfillment centers to fulfill Buy with Prime orders. Learn more
  • Activate Buy with Prime on your products. Offering a wider selection of your catalog, including top-selling SKUs, can help increase the chances that a customer will find your Buy with Prime products and convert, which could result in higher conversion rates and unit sales. We recommend offering Buy with Prime on all of your eligible products to help maximize your opportunity for improved sales and conversion rates.
  • Set up variations where it's appropriate to do so. Buy with Prime works with different attributes such as size, color, flavor, or other important variations related to your products. Setting up variations can help enhance your shoppers’ experience by dynamically displaying the Buy with Prime button when shoppers browse options on a product page.

2. Install the Alloy apps

After you’ve added products to your Buy with Prime catalog, install two Alloy apps to help you manage your product catalog and create a consistent shopper experience across your product pages. The Order connector app by Alloy and the Catalog updates app by Alloy integrate with your existing service provider’s order management operations to make installation easy.

What does the Order connector app do?

This app syncs Buy with Prime order and customer information with your ecommerce site so you can have access to your Buy with Prime customer and order information in one place. Buy with Prime orders will sync with any additional downstream integrations that you have on your ecommerce site. For example, once the Buy with Prime order posts to your ecommerce platform, that order will continue to flow through to any marketing campaigns you have configured, or any ERP or 3PL apps you have set up for your orders.

What does the Catalog updates app do?

This app updates product variations and pricing from your ecommerce catalog to your Buy with Prime catalog to create a consistent shopper experience across listings that helps build trust and preserve conversion.
